She was closing up at the brewery in Ventura after her bartending shift and her purse was gone. Someone had taken it from behind the bar during the rush. Car keys, wallet, phone, everything. She borrowed a coworker's phone and called the police first, then her roommate, then me.
Her 2010 GMC Acadia was in the brewery lot with zero keys. The dealer told her roommate they could order a fob but it would take 3 to 5 business days, the car would need to be towed in, and they recommended rekeying since the stolen key could still open the doors. Combined estimate was pushing $700.

Her smart key, FCC ID , was a -button proximity fob. I decoded the lock with my Lishi, cut the emergency blade, and had both fobs working before the police finished taking her statement.
She drove home that night. Total was 91 for two new keys. The dealer estimated 195 plus a tow and a multi-day wait. The stolen fob is dead to the car.
