2009 GMC Acadia
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2009 GMC Acadia Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a parking lot off the 118 corridor near Corriganville, almost 10 at night. Warehouse worker, late shift just ended, and his only key to his 2009 Acadia was gone. Not misplaced. Gone. He'd checked his pockets, the floor of the car through the window, the ground around it. Nothing.

He was already looking up tow trucks when he found my number.

First thing I asked for was his VIN. He didn't know what that was at first, which is fair. I told him to look through the windshield at the base of the glass on the driver's side. He found it in about twenty seconds. He had his insurance app on his phone, which had his registration, so ownership verification was done before I even started driving.

That VIN told me exactly what I needed to bring: the right key blank for his vehicle, the correct equipment to program the transponder to his immobilizer. I prepped everything in the van and headed out.

I cut the key and programmed the transponder under the parking lot lights. He watched the whole thing. When I turned the key and the engine started without hesitation, he let out a long breath. He'd been standing there for almost two hours.

He drove home that night. The dealer was closed anyway, and even if they weren't, they would have needed the car towed in and would have kept it until the next day at the earliest. That's the part people don't always think about until they're standing in a dark lot at 10pm with no options.

Text me your VIN before I arrive. It makes everything faster.
