2015 GMC Acadia Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A dog groomer in the Big Sky neighborhood in Simi Valley flagged me down about her 2015 GMC Acadia. The transponder key shell had cracked right at the flip hinge and the HU100 blade was wobbling loose every time she turned the ignition. She had already called the GMC dealer. They told her the only option was a full replacement key, cut and programmed from scratch.
What they didn't mention is that her PK3+ transponder chip and the circuit board inside were both working fine. The crack was cosmetic, a housing problem. The electronics that actually talk to the BCM were untouched.
I met her in the driveway with a set of replacement shells and my HU100 Lishi. Decoded her door lock cylinder for an exact bitting match, then carefully moved the internals from the broken shell into a fresh OUC60270 housing. Same button layout, same snap fit, same battery cavity for the CR2032 that powers the remote side. Cut a new blade from the decode, seated the chip, and closed it up.
Tested the transponder start three times. Checked lock, unlock, and hatch on the remote from across the driveway. Everything paired back to the BCM without a hiccup.
She needed a new shell and a clean blade, not a full reprogram. The whole job happened on site for a fraction of what the dealer quoted.
