Harbison Canyon is one of those unincorporated pockets just east of El Cajon proper. Quiet roads, properties set back, a lot of long driveways. Not a neighborhood where a tow truck driver is going to have an easy afternoon.
A guy called me because his 2005 Pacifica was sitting in his driveway and he had one remote head key left. That one had taken a tumble somewhere along the way and the blade was bent just enough that it would go into the ignition but not turn cleanly. He was working the key by feel, nursing it every time. I pulled the original fob apart carefully so I could read what I needed from it, cut a fresh blade to match his locks, transferred the electronics into a new housing, and programmed the replacement through the diagnostic port. Then I tested everything: ignition start, all four buttons, door locks, the trunk release.
He handed me back his original damaged unit to keep as a reference. Smart move. I left him with one clean working key and told him to call back when he wanted a spare. The dealer appointment stayed on the calendar for two weeks. He cancelled it that afternoon.
