A driver on the highway shoulder outside El Cajon had his key snap in the ignition of his 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. Half the blade was stuck in the cylinder and half was between his fingers. I used my HY14 Lishi to extract the broken fragment without touching the wafer surfaces inside. Once it was out clean, I decoded the lock from the wafer readings, cut a fresh blade, and programmed the transponder through OBD. His flip key, FCC ID CQOFD01480, was a 8-button remote. The fob was fine; he just needed the new blade and chip.
No drilling, no cylinder swap, no new ignition assembly. Total was $262. The other locksmith's approach would have been $458 or more. His original lock works with the new key exactly as before.
