A dispatcher for a small oil change operation called me about two company cars, both 2008 Kia Optimas, both with flip remotes that had seen better days. I transferred the boards into fresh housings, verified each transponder was still communicating correctly with its car, and cut replacement blades to match each vehicle. Tested all four buttons on each fob, verified remote lock and unlock on both, and confirmed the engine started and stayed running.
He had two working keys in about an hour. His total for both was still less than the dealer wanted for one. He just nodded and went back to his clipboard.
