Worn flip keys on Kia are one of the calls where the dealer quote and the actual fix are totally different jobs. The Kia flip key is a folding blade with a plastic housing that takes daily abuse. After years the plastic cracks, the button pads tear, and the blade pivot gets loose. The dealer wants to sell a brand new key, cut and programmed, at $478. Most of the time the chip and circuit board inside are fine.
