2019 Lincoln Nautilus Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out near the Brown Field Area, a salesman called me from a country club parking lot. He'd lost his only fob somewhere between the course and his car, and the Nautilus wasn't going anywhere. He'd already called the Lincoln dealer. They quoted him a number that made him pause, told him to have the car towed in, and couldn't give him a same-day appointment.
He called me instead.
I drove out to the lot, got into the vehicle using standard lockout tools, and got to work. The Nautilus uses a proximity-based smart key system, so with zero working fobs in hand there's a specific sequence the diagnostic equipment has to run through before new keys can be enrolled. The module enforces a timed wait. You can't rush it. I ran the sequence, registered the new fob, and verified every button function and the push-to-start before I packed up.
Total time on site was right around 45 minutes. His car never left the lot.
He mentioned afterward that he'd assumed Lincoln key replacement was just a dealer-only situation. It isn't. He saved a good chunk versus what the dealer quoted, and he didn't have to arrange a tow or wait days for an appointment slot.
