2016 Volvo V60 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A customer at the Rotary club near Moonlight Beach told me he'd already paid another locksmith for a 2016 Volvo V60 key that never started the car. The engine cranked but the immobilizer killed fuel immediately every single time. The other locksmith said the CEM module was bad and left.
The CEM was fine. The locksmith had attempted an OBD program on a platform that required bench access to the CEM for all-keys-lost. Without reading the secured EEPROM data first, the key registration never completed.
I used my HU56 Lishi to verify the blade cut, then pulled the CEM and read it on the bench with my IM608. I generated the correct key data from the EEPROM dump, wrote it back, reinstalled the module, and finished the programming through OBD. His key, FCC ID KR55WK49266, was a 6-button remote. Engine start was clean on three consecutive tests. I showed him the IM608 screen confirming the key was permanently registered in the CEM module.
He paid me $331. Dealer charges $602 for the same work. He'd already paid the first locksmith too, which was money gone. But I could make sure the job was done right this time.
