2022 Volvo V90 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was parked near the Trader Joe's off Lomas Santa Fe in Eden Gardens when I got the call. She'd had her 2022 V90 for about a year and a half and was still running on the single key the dealership handed her at delivery. She wanted a spare made before something went wrong, not after.
She'd already called the local Volvo dealer. The wait for an appointment, the need to have the car physically present, the price they quoted - she said it all ran together into one long headache. Her neighbor had my number.
I met her in the lot, verified ownership at the car, and pulled up the vehicle. The body control module on these 2022 V90s requires diagnostic enrollment for any new smart key. There is no shortcut. My equipment connected through the OBD port, communicated with the module, and walked through the full pairing sequence. The new fob, a four-button unit matching the factory setup, got enrolled. I tested every function: lock, unlock, the full button set, and the backup insert key inside the fob for good measure.
Total time was right around thirty minutes. She said the dealer had quoted her something that made her pause for two days before looking for another option. She paid a fraction of that and never had to leave Eden Gardens.
The spare is just sitting in her kitchen drawer now. That's exactly where it should be.
