Older Buick models with PK3 transponder keys are some of the fastest jobs I run. The B111 Z-keyway decodes cleanly, the blank cuts quickly, and if you have a working key the add-a-key sequence takes about 15 seconds. A spare with a working key can be done in 20 to 25 minutes.

A DIY restorer at the import salvage yard in Thousand Oaks had his key snap in the ignition of his 2013 Buick Encore early one morning. Half the blade was stuck in the cylinder, the other half was in his hand. Classic GM problem with older Z-keyway blades.

I used my VVDI Key Tool to pre-code a fresh PK3 transponder while I worked on the extraction. I pulled the broken piece without damaging the wafers, decoded the lock with my B111 Lishi, and cut a fresh key. His remote, FCC ID KR55WK500733, was a 4-button fob that paired back after the new key was registered.

He was back on the road in under an hour. Total was 185. A dealer would have charged 395 minimum plus a tow.
