She was closing up at the brewery in Santa Barbara after her bartending shift and her purse was gone. Someone had taken it from behind the bar during the rush. Car keys, wallet, phone, everything. She borrowed a coworker's phone and called the police first, then her roommate, then me.
Her 2007 GMC Envoy was in the brewery lot with zero keys. The dealer told her roommate they could order a fob but it would take 3 to 5 business days, the car would need to be towed in, and they recommended rekeying since the stolen key could still open the doors. Combined estimate was pushing $700.

AKL means I clear the entire key memory so the stolen fob can't start the engine. I used my IM608 to access the body control module, wipe the old key data, and program two new fobs from scratch. Her smart key, FCC ID MYT3X6898B, was a 3-button proximity fob. I decoded the lock with my Lishi, cut the emergency blade, and had both fobs working before the police finished taking her statement.
She drove home that night. Total was 98 for two new keys. The dealer estimated 208 plus a tow and a multi-day wait. The stolen fob is dead to the car.
