A marketing consultant who works out of the coworking space near CSUSM in San Marcos called me about a spare key for her 2014 Audi A7. She was not locked out, nothing was broken. She just wanted a working second key she could actually use day to day, not a backup she forgot about in a kitchen drawer.

I decoded the cut from her door lock, cut the blade to spec on my machine, and programmed the new fob through the OBD port on site in the parking lot. Four-button smart key, same layout as the factory fob, same button feel. The only difference she could see was no four-ring badge on the back.
She tested every button, checked the door handles, started the car. Everything worked. She asked if she should tip me. I said just tell your coworkers.
The dealer had quoted her a number that made her eyes go wide. She saved a good chunk coming this route, and she got it done without driving to a dealership or waiting on an order.
