2016 Audi Q7 Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy in the Westwood area of Rancho Bernardo called on a Tuesday morning. He had his spare, but he wanted a second copy made before a work trip later that week. His wife was going to have the car while he was gone, and there would be exactly one key between two people and a tight schedule.
The original was already pretty worn. The cuts were readable, but the tip had taken some wear from years of daily use in the ignition cylinder. A direct copy of a worn key is one of those things that catches people later, when the copy works fine in the door but sticks in the ignition under load.
I decoded the cuts off the original rather than tracing them blind, made the replacement key blade to spec, and tested it in the ignition and both front doors before handing it over. Took about twenty minutes in his driveway.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him an appointment slot three days out and a wait while they sourced the blank. His trip was in two days. The dealer timeline just did not fit. We handled it same day, in the driveway, for a fraction of what they wanted.
