2007 Hummer H2 Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy in Scripps Ranch on a Saturday morning. He'd lost both keys to his 2007 Hummer H2, and the truck was sitting in his driveway going nowhere. He'd already called the dealer. They told him to tow it in, then wait a few days while they ordered the key. He wasn't interested in that plan.
I pulled up to the house and the H2 was parked right out front, big as ever. Getting into it wasn't the complicated part. I used my tools, got the door open without touching a single panel, and decoded the lock cylinder to get the key cut data. Cut the new key right there on the truck, on the machine in my van.
Then came the OBD work. On an all-keys-lost situation like this, you connect to the port, run the full programming sequence, and the system wipes its memory of whatever keys it used to know. New key goes in, registers clean, and becomes the only one the truck recognizes. I cut and programmed a second one while I was there, because two keys is always the right answer after a situation like this.
Tested the ignition, tested all three buttons on the fob, walked around and confirmed the locks. Truck fired right up, both remotes working.
He mentioned what the dealer had quoted and kind of laughed about it. Didn't need to say much else.
