When a 2023 Kia Stinger key is done wrong, it doesn't "kind of work." It fails. The remote might lock and unlock perfectly while the dash still says "key not detected" and refuses to start. Or push-to-start works for a few days then randomly stops detecting the fob after deeper security verification kicks in.

His fob, FCC ID TQ8-FOB-4F46, also had a weak CR2032 battery making detection worse.
The replacement has been working for months and cost him $216. Dealer would have charged $391. The difference is the chip inside.
