2025 Mazda CX-50 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from someone in Harbison Canyon on a Monday morning. He works out of a home office and had client calls running back to back most of the day, so he could not exactly disappear for hours.
His 2025 CX-50 smart key had cracked at the seam over the weekend -- physical damage, not a battery issue. The buttons were sitting loose in the housing and proximity detection had gone intermittent. He had already called the dealer. They could see him Thursday.
He asked if I could come to him. I said yes.
I pulled into his driveway between his calls. He stepped out for maybe ten minutes, long enough to watch me connect to the OBD port and start the programming sequence. I walked him through what the security wait period was and why it exists. He nodded, went back inside, and I finished the job in the driveway.
By the time he was done with his next call, he had a working replacement fob. I tested proximity, push-button start, and every button on the four-button key before I packed up.
He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer quoted, and his car never left the driveway. Thursday was still four days away.
