Got a call from a student parking lot near the CSUSM Area in San Marcos. Guy had one key for his 2005 G6, carried it on a crowded ring, and the plastic head finally gave out. The blade was still technically intact, but the chip housing was cracked open and something inside had shifted. He could get the blade into the ignition but the car would crank, catch for half a second, then die. Classic immobilizer behavior. He thought the starter was going out.
