2011 Volkswagen CC
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

Q: How do I know you're not one of those scam locksmiths?

Ask for the license number, a price range for your specific vehicle, and the company name before anyone rolls. If they can't give you at least a range on the phone, that's a red flag. The pattern that shows up constantly in owner forums goes like this: low quote over the phone, pressure to pay a much higher number once they're in your driveway, and a key that half-works when it's done.

Q: Will the replacement key work exactly like my original?

Yes. A properly done replacement on the 2011 CC covers both sides of the job: the transponder gets enrolled so the immobilizer authorizes the start, and the remote gets programmed so all four buttons work. We test the blade in the door and ignition, walk every button, and confirm the car starts before we pack up.

Q: My 2011 CC starts fine but the remote buttons stopped working. Do I need a whole new key?

Not necessarily. The transponder and the remote are independent functions inside the same key. If the car starts, the transponder side is fine. First thing to check is the CR2032 battery in the fob. Pop the flip key apart, swap the battery, and test all four buttons. Weak or dead cells will kill remote range and button response before anything else shows symptoms.

Q: I bought a replacement flip key fob online for my 2011 CC. Can I program it myself?

No. The 2011 VW CC does not have an owner-accessible self-programming sequence for either the remote or the transponder. Both require a diagnostic tool connected to the OBD port. If you already bought the key, that's not a total loss. Bring it to us and we can cut the blade to your vehicle and program both the remote and the transponder on site. The key itself just needs to be the correct one for this vehicle.

2011 Volkswagen CC Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Moving day doesn't wait for anyone.

A couple combining households had a PODS container scheduled for pickup at noon, and they were at the lot near Moonlight Beach early that morning when they realized the only key to their 2011 VW CC was somewhere inside the container. Buried in a box, under everything they'd just finished packing. Digging it out meant unloading the whole thing and reloading it before the driver showed up.

They called me instead.

I was at the lot within the hour. I decoded the door lock mechanically to get the key cut right without needing them to dig up any paperwork, ran the blade on my machine, and then connected through the OBD port to enroll the transponder and program the four-button remote. All of it done on site, in a parking lot, with the container sitting twenty feet away.

One thing I told them before I left: the original key, if they find it while unpacking, will still work. The procedure I used adds a key to the existing list without wiping the others. They didn't have to choose between finding it and having a working key right now.

They were back to loading inside 45 minutes. The container left on time. I found out later they did find the original during unpacking, just like I said they would.

The dealer would have had them waiting days for a parts order plus a service appointment. That wasn't an option they had.

Volkswagen CC Mobile Service FAQ

Real costs, no dealer surprises

Are you licensed and insured to work on Volkswagen vehicles?▼

Yes. EZ Car Keyz is licensed through the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, the state agency that regulates locksmiths. We carry full liability insurance, and we've passed the background check and credentialing process that gives us proper access to vehicle security data. For a 2011 VW CC specifically, this matters because the transponder enrollment talks directly to the immobilizer through the OBD port.
