2014 Volkswagen CC Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
She was renting a place in Coronado Village and had already paid another locksmith to program a replacement key for her 2014 VW CC. He failed partway through, left fault codes sitting in the immobilizer, and then handed her a bill for the attempt. His parting advice was to tow it to the dealer.
When she called me, she said it upfront: "I've already paid someone once for nothing. I need to know this is actually going to work."
I respect that. It is a fair thing to say.
I drove out to her street, plugged into the OBD port, and saw exactly what had happened. The immobilizer had fault codes from the incomplete procedure and was sitting in a state where it would not accept new key registrations. The prior tech had run a learning sequence built for a different generation of VW security. Close enough to get started, not close enough to finish.
I cleared the fault codes, verified the module was in a clean state, then ran the correct key learning sequence for this car from the beginning. Her remote flip key registered fully. I showed her the confirmed status on the tool screen so she wasn't just taking my word for it.
She turned the key. The CC started without hesitation.
The dealer quote she had gotten to fix the same situation was more than double what she paid me. I didn't tack on anything extra for the cleanup work. That is just part of doing the job right the first time.
