The key blade is doing its mechanical job, but the security system is cutting the engine off because it did not get a valid signal from the chip. Q: I bought a replacement fob online for my V50. Can I program it myself?

Not on this vehicle. The 2011 V50 does not have an onboard self-programming sequence for adding a remote head key.
