1999 Chevrolet Venture Transponder key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A customer at the community center near Camino Real Park told me he'd already paid another locksmith full price for a 1999 Chevrolet Venture key that never worked right. The engine would crank but the immobilizer cut fuel after two seconds. Classic failed key learn. The other locksmith told him the body control module was bad and left.

The module was fine. It had a locksmith problem, not a module problem. The previous tech hadn't completed GM's full key learn procedure. Chevy's immobilizer requires the key to go through a specific security learn that includes a 10-minute wait timer. If you rush it or skip the timer, the car writes the key temporarily but doesn't commit it to permanent memory.

I used my B111 Lishi to verify the blade cut was correct, then connected through OBD with my IM608. I cleared the failed key data, ran a clean learn with the full 10-minute timer, and confirmed the new key was written permanently. His transponder key, FCC ID , had the standard B111 blade and ID46 chip. I showed him the confirmation screen on my IM608 so he could see the key was fully learned this time.

He paid me 137. The dealer charges 318 for the same work. He'd already paid the first locksmith too, which I couldn't help with. But I could make sure the job was actually done right.
