A long-haul commuter pulled over at a highway rest stop in Ventura had his key snap inside the door lock of his 1997 Chrysler LHS. The blade broke clean in half. Another locksmith he called first told him the lock cylinder would need to be drilled out and replaced. That meant new keys, a new cylinder, and a bill pushing $500. He called me for a second opinion.
I used my Y160 Lishi to extract the broken blade fragment from the lock without scratching the wafer surfaces inside. Once it was out, I decoded the lock by reading each wafer position, which gave me the exact cut depths for a new key without needing the original. His car used a separate remote fob, FCC ID GQ43VT7T, and a standalone transponder blade. I cut the new key from the decode and programmed the transponder chip through OBD using the SKIM PIN.
No drilling and no cylinder replacement. His total was 95. The other locksmith's plan would have run 200 or more. His original lock works with the new key exactly like it worked with the old one.
