Over near Ventura River Preserve in Ventura, a woman called me after her purse got swiped off a bench at a brewery patio. She was on a first date. Keys, wallet, phone, all gone. She borrowed the bartender's phone and called the police, then her roommate, then me.

She drove home that night. The stolen remote can still physically turn the lock cylinder, but the old key data is gone from the SKIM. Dead to the car.
