I lost all my Infiniti keys. Can you still make a new one?

Yes. All-keys-lost is one of the most common calls we get on Infinitis. We access your vehicle BCM through the OBD port, extract the security PIN, generate new key data, cut a fresh emergency blade, and program one or more intelligent keys to your vehicle. On older G35 and G37 models, this is a well-established procedure. On newer Q50, QX50, and QX60 models with the 40-digit PIN system, we use specialized BCM adapters. No tow needed, no dealer visit, no days of waiting for a VIN-ordered key.

Do I need to tow my car to the dealer if I have no keys?

Accepted Answer

No. That is the dealer solution, not the only solution. An Infiniti key guide puts the choice plainly: tow the car to the dealer or have an automotive locksmith come and code the key on site. One Q50 owner in Atlanta had their car towed to the dealer three times in one year for key programming after break-ins. Each tow costs money on top of the dealer key bill. We come to wherever the vehicle is sitting and handle the entire AKL process on site.

How long does an all-keys-lost replacement take?

Accepted Answer

For most Infiniti models, the all-keys-lost process takes 45 to 90 minutes on site. That includes security access, BCM PIN extraction, key generation, cutting the emergency blade, programming, and testing. Older G35 and G37 models on standard NATS tend to be faster. Newer Q-series and QX models with 40-digit PINs take a bit longer. Infiniti dealers require ordering the key by VIN, waiting days for delivery, then scheduling a programming appointment. We get it done in one visit at your location.

What battery does the 1998 Infiniti QX4 key fob use?

The 1998 Infiniti QX4 uses a CR2032 battery. You can find them at most auto parts stores or pharmacies for a few dollars. When we make a replacement key, we always install a fresh battery so you are starting with a full charge. If your Infiniti fob is losing range or giving a wrong key error after a battery swap, the key may need to be reprogrammed to the vehicle, which is a quick procedure we can handle on site.

Can you make a spare at the same time so I have two keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Nissan and Infiniti intelligent key systems can register multiple fobs in one programming session. All keys must be present during the learning cycle because the system expects to enroll every key at once. Anything not presented can be dropped from memory. That means adding a second key during the same visit costs much less than paying a separate service call later. Two keys also means you never end up in another all-keys-lost situation, which is always more expensive.
