A woman flagged me down near the border crossing area in San Ysidro. She had her 1999 Acura CL in a lot nearby and the ignition had been giving her grief for weeks. She told me the other shop's quote was for parts she never needed. I showed her the old wafers side by side with the new ones so she could see the difference herself. The whole job was done in the parking lot, no tow, no dealer visit. She drove out of San Ysidro that afternoon without fighting her own ignition for the first time in months.
