2026 Acura Integra
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2026 Acura Integra Smart Key Fob Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

She had her dog in the back seat. August. The car was off, windows cracked just enough to feel like not enough. The vet visit near the Santee Lakes Area had gone fine, but the walk back to the parking lot hadn't. She pressed the unlock button. Nothing. Pressed it again. The dog was panting behind the glass.

She called the dealer first. They told her the earliest appointment was the following afternoon. She called me right after that.

I was twenty minutes out. When I pulled up, I got the door open first so she could get the dog out and into the shade. That's always the first order of business when an animal or a kid is involved. Then we dealt with the car.

The fob on this Integra is a five-button smart key running on a CR2032. When I cracked it open, the battery had leaked and corroded the contact points badly enough to short the circuit board inside the housing. That's not a battery swap fix. The board was done. I replaced the whole fob, registered it to the vehicle through the OBD port with my scan tool, and walked every function: proximity detection, push-button start, all five buttons, door handles.

Total time from her phone call to the engine running was under 45 minutes. The dealer's option was a next-day appointment for noticeably more money. The dog was fine. She didn't have to leave a car sitting in a parking lot and come back the next day hoping nothing else went wrong overnight.
