Fresh battery, clean contacts, intact shell. If all three check out and you're still getting warnings, the issue is likely the key's registration, not the hardware. That's a diagnostic job, not a battery swap.

Can I use just the emergency blade to drive the car daily if my fob is broken?

Short answer: not reliably, and not safely as a permanent fix.

The emergency blade opens the door cylinder mechanically. But the fob's transponder still needs to communicate with the immobilizer for the engine to start and stay running. If the board inside the fob is damaged or dead, you may get inconsistent starts, or no start at all, depending on how far gone the electronics are. Some owners report that a cracked fob with a dead remote will still sometimes pass the transponder handshake and allow a start, other times it won't. That's not a pattern you want to depend on in the Sweetwater area at 7 in the morning.

The blade is a backup entry tool, not a daily driver solution. If you're already leaning on it, it's time to replace the fob.
