South Poway on a Saturday afternoon. A guy who runs a vintage watch shop called because his 2017 XF wasn't recognizing his only fob. His regular mechanic had told him Jaguar keys were dealer-locked, that nobody outside a Jaguar service center could touch them. He said the dealer wanted several days, a tow since the car wasn't starting reliably, and a number that made him hesitate. He paid a fraction of that, the car stayed in his lot, and he made it home the same afternoon. The watch shop was still open when I left.
