Out in Bonsall, just off the back roads that feed into Fallbrook, a TX owner called me at close to midnight. His only fob had stopped being recognized by the car. He mentioned what the dealer had quoted him once before on a different vehicle for a similar job, and what he would have owed on top of that for a tow. What he paid me that night was a fraction of what that scenario would have cost him.
There is a small category of brand-new Lexus platforms where an all-keys-lost job requires an online authorization step that only a dealer can complete. The TX at this point does not fall into that category, and I tell people upfront when something does. This one was a standard mobile job, done on site, midnight in Bonsall.
