A member at one of the equestrian properties out in Fairbanks Ranch texted me after his 2007 Porsche Cayman key stopped responding. He had been near the arena and the key took a hard drop into sand. The fob shell cracked slightly on impact and grit worked its way inside. The remote functions were dead and he was not sure if the car would even start, so he just stayed put and found me online.

I pulled the board, confirmed the transponder was reading correctly, and transferred the remote function to a fresh fob shell with a working board. Programmed it on site, tested every button, tested the start cycle twice.
The car left that gravel lot under its own power. He mentioned what the dealer had quoted him for a full replacement key plus the tow he would have needed to get there. What he paid me was a fraction of that, and it happened in his zip code with no waiting on parts from overseas.
