2013 Porsche Cayman Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Rancho Santa Fe Village, the parking structures beneath some of the medical and professional buildings are genuinely tight. Low ceilings, spiral ramps, the kind of geometry a flatbed tow truck looks at and just shakes its head.
A call came in from a guy who'd parked his 2013 Cayman on the lower sublevel. His smart fob had been acting up for a few days, intermittent range, had to get close to the car to get it to respond. That morning it stopped responding entirely. The car was stuck underground, and the dealer's answer was to get the car to them first. He couldn't move the car. They couldn't help. That was the loop he was in when he called me.
I drove to Rancho Santa Fe Village and walked down into the structure with my tools. No need to move the car, no need to call a tow. I connected through the OBD port, read the immobilizer data, and programmed a replacement fob right there on the lower level. Cut the emergency blade on site too. Tested every button, walked the door handles, confirmed the car started clean.
He asked how long the dealer would have taken if the car had somehow made it there. I told him what other owners report: order the key from the factory, wait, come back for programming, sometimes two separate trips. He just nodded. He had a working key in under an hour and drove out of that garage himself.
