A traveling band member pulled off the highway outside Rancho Bernardo and his 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan key fob stopped working. Salvaging the transponder data let me skip a full all-keys-lost reprogram, which saved serious time. His replacement key, FCC ID NBG010180T, was a 4-button flip that I built from a fresh blank with the cloned chip inside. Cut the blade, tested ignition start, tested all remote functions, and confirmed range.
He was back on the highway in under an hour. Total was $175. When you're stuck on a highway pulloff at 7pm, dealer hours don't exist.
