Your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan uses a Remote Flip Key with 4 buttons on the face, a CR2032 battery inside powering the remote, and either an HU66 switchblade that flips out of the housing or an HU162T high-security blade on newer models. There's also a transponder chip that communicates with the car's immobilizer every time you start it.

She paid about $208 for the full job. The dealer wanted $422 to replace parts that weren't broken.
