2004 Volvo C70 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A Euro specialist shop in North El Cajon called me about a 2004 C70 that had gone completely dark after a key job gone sideways.
The backstory was this: the shop had done a timing belt service, then called another locksmith to cut and program a replacement flip key for the owner. That locksmith attempted the job through the OBD port, hit an error mid-session, and left. The car would not start. It would not accept any key. The Central Electronic Module was throwing faults and the shop had no idea whether the car even had a recoverable path forward.

Then I generated a fresh key from the dump and built out a replacement five-button flip fob matched to the factory spec. When I reinstalled the module and tested, the car came back on the first attempt. Doors, remote, ignition, all of it working.
The whole job ran about two hours including pulling the module and putting everything back together. I walked the shop tech through what the original failure looked like in the data so he could recognize it if it ever came up again on another European car.
The dealer option would have been a flatbed, a likely module replacement, and the better part of a week waiting for a Volvo specialist to schedule the work. The owner saved a significant amount and got the car back the same day.
