I used my IM608 to pull the CEM, read the EEPROM on the bench, clear the old key data, and register two new fobs from scratch. Her smart key, FCC ID YGOHUF8423, was a 4-button proximity fob. Both fobs were working before the police called back with a case number.
She drove home that night with two working keys. Total was $286. The dealer estimated $536 plus a tow and nearly a week. The stolen fob is electronically dead now. Once the key memory is wiped, the old fob is just plastic.
