2003 Acura NSX Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from an NSX owner in Ventura, over near the Montalvo neighborhood. His only black master key had a crack running through the plastic head, and the transponder chip inside was starting to shift around. Some days the car fired right up. Other days he'd get the green immobilizer light flashing on the dash and have to wiggle the key just right to get the chip close enough to the antenna ring.
He'd already called the Acura dealer. They told him they needed his red learning key to program a new one. He didn't have it. Previous owner never handed it over. Without that red key, the dealer wanted to replace the entire immobilizer control unit, which meant ordering the part, scheduling the labor, and leaving the car sitting.
I drove out with a blank HD106-PT and my cloning equipment. Read the Megamos 13 chip data off his existing black key, wrote it to the new blank, and cut the key to his code. Whole job took about 25 minutes in his driveway. No red key needed, no immobilizer replacement, no tow.
He turned it over twice just to make sure, then stood there holding both keys like he was weighing them. The old cracked one went in a drawer. The new one went on his ring. Fraction of what the dealer quoted, and he never left the house.
