The call came in from Lake Los Carneros in Goleta. A 1999 NSX, one key, and a blinking immobilizer indicator after cranking. Owner said it had been intermittent for a week, then stopped starting reliably at all.

I separated the NSX key, tested a start cycle with it alone, and it fired. But an intermittent like this usually means the key is also starting to age out, so we cut a fresh transponder blank and handled the immobilizer enrollment on site with the right Honda and Acura tooling. Then I had the owner run a few start cycles, once with the full key ring close by and once with just the NSX key, so she could see the difference herself.

She left with a working spare and a cleaner habit. No flatbed, no dealer waiting room, no drama.
