2005 Acura NSX Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In Ventura, over in the Loma Vista neighborhood, I got a call from a guy who sounded like he'd already been through the wringer. He had a 2005 NSX-T with one working black master key and no red learning key. The spare had gone missing years ago with a previous owner, and now the remaining key was so worn the blade barely turned the ignition without wiggling it.
He called Acura first. They told him without the red learning key, they'd need to replace the entire immobilizer control unit. Quoted him the full job: the unit, the labor, reprogramming, multiple days waiting on a special-order part. He did not want to hand his NSX over to a dealer lot for a week.
I drove out to his place, set up on the driveway, and cloned the Megamos 13 chip from his existing black key onto a fresh HD106-PT blank. Cut the blade to code so it wouldn't need the wiggle anymore. Tested it in the ignition: key to ON, green immobilizer light comes on for two seconds and goes dark. Engine fires. Walked both keys through door locks and the ignition three times each.
Whole thing took about 25 minutes. He kept his car in his own garage the entire time, paid a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and walked away with two solid keys instead of one sketchy one.
