In Ventura, in the Thompson Boulevard district, a brunch server waved me over between tables and said she was done getting burned.
Another locksmith had sold her a replacement for her 2010 Acura RL, but the car would crank, catch for a heartbeat, then drop out with the green key indicator starting to blink. When it was done, the ignition knob start was repeatable, the door handle lock dot gave one clean beep, and her dash stopped nagging. She just stood there, quiet, like she didn’t trust it yet.
She didn’t have to tow it anywhere, and it was way less than the dealer route.
