She had just landed after a late flight, walked to long-term parking at the airport, and her 2005 Acura TSX wouldn't respond to the key fob. The battery in the remote was dead. The car was locked, the emergency blade was buried in her checked bag in the trunk, and the trunk wouldn't pop without the remote. Her transponder key with FCC ID came back online after a battery swap and a quick reprogram to clear the communication fault. She seemed pretty relieved when I told her both keys were still good.
She drove home that same morning. Total was about 169. The dealer would have been 368 plus $175 in towing and a Thursday appointment. She skipped all of that and was home before lunch.
