2009 Acura TSX Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy called me from a trailhead near Old Town Simi on a Saturday afternoon. He had spent a good part of his morning hiking and came back to the parking area to find his only key gone.
He had retraced about a mile of the trail. Nothing. His 2009 TSX was sitting right there and he was already mentally scheduling a Monday tow to the dealer and trying to figure out how to get home in the meantime.
I told him I could be out that afternoon.
When I got there he was sitting on a curb in the shade, water bottle in hand, looking like a man who had accepted his fate. I got the door open by picking the lock and decoding the wafer positions from there. Cut a fresh blade to match, then connected through the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure. That process clears the previous key memory and registers the new fob as the primary key. The flip key fired the car up on the first try.
I cut him a spare while I was at it. He had never bothered with a spare before, which is how he ended up in that parking lot to begin with.
The whole job was done in about 45 minutes. He drove home from that trailhead with two working keys instead of waiting out the weekend for a dealer appointment he hadn't even made yet.
