Got a call from a woman in the Bridle Path neighborhood in Simi Valley around 7 AM. She had just gotten home from a late flight, grabbed her bags, and walked out to her 2005 Acura TSX in long-term parking. Dead remote. No button response at all. The car was locked, and the separate emergency blade she kept on the ring was buried somewhere in her checked luggage inside the trunk.
She tried the dealer first. Earliest they could see her was Thursday. This was Tuesday. The tow quote on top of that made it worse.
I got there in about 40 minutes. Lishi HU101 got the door open without touching the paint. Once inside, I plugged into the OBD-II port under the dash and pulled up the immobilizer status with my Smart Pro. Both her transponder keys were still registered to the ECU. No lost programming, no fault codes on the immobilizer control unit. The 12V in the car was just low enough that the remote receiver module had gone to sleep and the transponder reader coil was not powering up consistently.
Jumped the battery, confirmed both keys started the car clean, and tested the remote lock and unlock on each one. The whole thing took maybe 25 minutes on site.
She sat in the driver's seat for a second after it started, just staring at the gauges like she was waiting for something else to go wrong. Nothing did. She drove home before lunch and skipped the Thursday appointment entirely.
