2006 Acura TSX Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy in the Indian Hills Ridge area of Simi Valley. He had a 2006 Acura TSX sitting in his driveway with zero working keys. His only key had snapped at the blade, right where the metal meets the plastic head. He tried superglue. Twice.
He already called the dealer. They told him the car had to come to them, and they would need to order the key blank, which could take a few days. Then programming on top of that. He asked if he could just bring the broken pieces in. They said no, the car has to be present for the immobilizer reset.
I pulled up around 11 AM. Popped the lower dash panel to access the OBD-II port. On the 2006 TSX, an all-keys-lost job means pulling the immobilizer pin code. I read the code from the PCF7936-based system using my diagnostic tool, then cut a fresh HD108 blade on my mobile key machine right there in the driveway. Programmed the new transponder chip, started the car on the first turn.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes. He stood in his garage doorway holding a coffee, watching me work. When the engine turned over, he just nodded like he had been holding his breath.
He kept the broken key pieces. Not sure why. People do that.
