2004 Acura TSX Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A food truck owner in West Simi Valley called me on a Thursday afternoon. He'd been running his route all morning and somewhere between stops he realized he only had one key left for his 2004 TSX. Not lost, just worn down to one. He wanted a spare before the inevitable.
He'd called the dealer first. They told him to bring it in on a weekday, plan for the better part of the morning, and expect a bill that made him pause. A friend mentioned mobile locksmiths exist. He wasn't sure that was real, so he looked it up and found me.
I met him at the farmers market near West Simi Valley while his lunch rush wound down. He handed me his original key and I got to work. The blade gets decoded or cut to the key code on file, and the transponder chip in the new key gets programmed to the car's immobilizer through the OBD port. Both steps done on site, on the hood of the car, in the same parking lot where he parks between shifts.
He watched the whole thing. When I handed it back, he turned it in the ignition himself. It started. He did it again. Still started. That's the test that matters.
The car was there for maybe 30 minutes total. He paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted and didn't lose a single weekday morning to a service drive.
