2012 Acura TSX Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A nurse called me from the parking lot near Las Posas Plaza in Camarillo, about 10pm after a double shift. Her only key to a 2012 TSX was gone. Somewhere in her scrubs, somewhere in the hospital, she had no idea. She was already looking up tow trucks.
I asked for her VIN. She didn't know what that was. I told her to look through the windshield, bottom left of the glass on the driver's side. She found it. Then I had her pull up her insurance app for registration, and that was there too.
With that 17-character VIN, I already knew her key type, the immobilizer protocol, and which blank and chip to prep before I left. By the time I got to her, the MLBHLIK-1T blank was ready to cut.
I cut the key on site, then ran the all-keys-lost procedure through the OBD port using my programmer to register the new ID46 transponder to the immobilizer. Built the 4-button remote flip key, programmed it under the parking lot lights, tested lock, unlock, trunk, and start. The whole job took maybe 35 minutes.
She stood there watching through the windshield the whole time. When the engine turned over, she just exhaled. Like she had been holding her breath since she called.
She drove home that night. The dealer was closed anyway, and they would have needed a tow on top of whatever they quoted.
