A delivery driver pulled over at a roadside spot in Simi Valley had his key snap inside the door lock of his 2007 Acura TSX. The blade broke clean off. I used my HON66 Lishi to extract the broken blade fragment from the door lock without scratching the wafer surfaces inside. Once it was out, I decoded the lock by reading each wafer position, which gave me the exact cut depths for a new key without needing the original. I also used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data from the broken key head since the chip was still intact in the cracked housing. His remote-head key, FCC ID , was a -button unit that I rebuilt into a fresh shell with the salvaged chip.
No drilling and no cylinder replacement. His total was 159. The other locksmith's plan would have been 352 or more with parts and labor. His original lock works with the new key exactly like it worked with the old one.
