I met him at the lot and used my VVDI2 to read the ID46 chip data from his working key and clone it onto a fresh blank so the truck's immobilizer accepted it without a full security reset. His smart key, FCC ID MYT3X6898B, had 3 buttons including remote start. I cut the blade, cloned the chip, and synced the remote functions on-site.
He drove off the lot with two working keys for less than the dealer wanted for one. That second key also means his next replacement is an add-a-key job instead of all-keys-lost, which saves even more down the line.
