2005 Chevrolet Blazer Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked near the beach access at Silver Strand when a call came in from a hotel lot on the other side of Oxnard. A woman was stuck. Her 2005 Blazer key would turn the ignition fine, but the remote had gone completely unresponsive and she needed to get into a locked situation with her gear in the back seat.

She had already tried the obvious things. New CR2032 from a nearby pharmacy, reseated it herself. Still nothing. The fob looked fine physically, no cracks, no corrosion she could see. But the lock and unlock buttons were dead and she had no way to pop the doors remotely.

When I got there, I popped the fob open on the hood. The battery contact on the positive side had a slight oxidation ring on it, just enough to break a solid connection. The new CR2032 she bought was sitting against a dirty contact, which is about as useful as no battery at all. Cleaned both contact points, reseated the fresh cell, snapped it back together.

Then I walked every button, checked range from the back of the lot, and confirmed lock, unlock, and the third button all responded cleanly. That was the whole job. She didn't need a new fob, didn't need programming, didn't need a tow.

The dealer would have had her bring the vehicle in and put it in a service queue. She got it handled in a parking lot in about fifteen minutes.
