She found me through a neighbor in South Bank. Her 2004 Blazer had been sitting in the driveway for two days because the flip key had split at the hinge and the blade was flopping around loose. I moved her working board into a fresh shell, verified the blade cut was accurate before locking it into the new housing, seated a new CR2032, and tested lock, unlock, and the third button from about thirty feet out. Everything fired clean. Then I tested the ignition start to confirm the transponder was still reading correctly through the new housing.
Total time on site: about twenty-five minutes. She paid a fraction of what the dealer wanted for a full replacement she never needed.
